Your classroom has a hidden layer. Now you can see it.

Meet ClassO'Gram

ClassO’Gram is a private, browser-based sociogram tool that maps the social dynamics in your classroom so you can support the whole student, not just their academics.

A teacher's dillemma

You know your students academically. You know who finishes first, who needs extra time, and who is ready for the next challenge. But the social layer is harder to see.Who feels left out? Who is quietly struggling to connect? Where is conflict building beneath the surface? And maybe most importantly, what if what you think is happening is completely wrong? That unknown has consequences.Students who feel excluded are often less engaged, less willing to take academic risks, and more likely to struggle behaviorally. Small shifts in classroom social structure can change the trajectory of a student’s entire school year.ClassO’Gram gives you a clearer map of what’s actually happening so you can respond earlier, more intentionally, and with the right support for each student.

ClassO’Gram quickly reveals what observation alone can miss.

ClassO’Gram helps teachers identify classroom social patterns that are often invisible from the front of the room, including:

  • Social Stars: Students with high positive nominations, including whether their popularity appears warmth-based or dominance-based. The intervention is different for each.

  • Academic Stars: Students others trust as collaborative partners.

  • Overlooked Students: Students who are not nominated by anyone. They may be invisible to peers but rarely flagged by behavior.

  • Social Isolates: Students receiving negative nominations but no positive ones.

  • Controversial Students: Students with polarizing dynamics, including both high positive and high negative nominations.

  • Mutual Pairs: Students who chose each other, often the strongest signal of genuine connection.

  • Friend Groups: Tight-knit clusters with overlapping mutual connections.

  • Bridge Students: Students whose connections span multiple social groups.

  • Isolated Clusters: Groups with no outside connections to the rest of the class.

  • One-Sided Connections: Situations where one student’s positive nomination is met with a negative nomination in return.

Belonging is not a soft issue. It shapes everything.

Decades of social science research show that a student’s sense of belonging at school is closely connected to academic engagement, emotional well-being, behavior, and long-term outcomes.Students who feel excluded or invisible are more likely to:-Participate less in class
-Avoid academic risks
-Struggle behaviorally
-Experience anxiety, depression, or school avoidance
And critically, many students who are struggling socially are not the ones visibly acting out. They are often the students sitting quietly at the edges. Present. Compliant. Easy to overlook. Completely disconnected.ClassO’Gram helps teachers see those patterns earlier, before quiet disconnection becomes something bigger.

Founder Story: Why I Built ClassO’Gram

As a public school teacher, I cared deeply about my students, and I thought I knew who was struggling, who was thriving, and who might need a little extra support. Then I remembered a tool I had learned about in college called a sociogram and on a whim I decided to try one with my own class using a pen-and-paper method. What I saw on that page stopped me.A student I would have described as “doing fine” had not been nominated by a single peer. Not once. Not in any category. She wasn’t a behavior problem. She wasn’t failing. She wasn’t demanding attention. She was invisible, and she had been invisible all year while I was looking right at her.Sociograms aren’t new. The research behind them is decades old. But the tools I found were built for counselors, researchers, or large systems. They were clunky, expensive, or both. Nothing felt built for a classroom teacher with 45 minutes of planning, 35 students, and a real desire to do right by every child in the room.So I built the tool I wish I’d had back then.ClassO’Gram has been my passion project for a decade. It is private, practical, and designed around the reality of teaching. Not just the content. Not just the behavior you can see. The whole child.Because sometimes the student who needs us most is the one who has learned how not to be noticed.
